“Ye are the stars of the heaven of understanding, the breeze that stirreth at the break of day, the soft-flowing waters upon which must depend the very life of men, the letters inscribed upon His sacred scroll. With the utmost unity, and in a spirit of perfect fellowship, exert yourselves, that ye may be enabled to achieve that which beseemeth this Day of God.” –Bahá’u’lláh Humankind is a veritable flower garden of diversity – a wealth of ethnicities, cultures, languages, and religions. In embracing this diversity we recognize the spiritual hertiage that binds us together. We also recognize that the basic spiritual teachings of all the world's great religions are identical. They stand as a point of attraction, not of conflict. Where they differ is in their social teachings – those teachings which, through a succession of revelations, have created an ever-advancing civilization. All the Messengers of the world's great religions have spoken of this. They also spoke of a promised Day of God in which humanity would attain its fondest wish. It is a day in which peace and justice would be poised to rise above the horizon of discord and strife. Those who have felt the spirit of this dawning age are aware that a virtuous life is only the first step. They are aware that true faith is not belief alone, but spirit that is translated into action. They are also aware that the promises of the past have been fulfilled and that they have a part to play in God's great plan. The Bahá'í Faith transcends borders and ideologies. It embraces all cultures. It overcomes the barriers of hate, prejudice and ignorance and it summons all mankind to the path of unity.
