The Bahá'í World Center is located on Mount Carmel in Haifa, Israel and its environs.

Bahá'u'lláh, the Prophet Founder of the Faith, arrived in the nearby fortress city of 'Akka

in 1868 as a religious prisoner, whose series of forced exiles is described in Micah 7:12.
